Starting her career 9 years ago , Carissa has held up positions in not only behind the chair work but as and educator , both in salon and in cosmetology school , platform work and now film. Her work varies from natural beauty styles to vintage and almost anything in between. Carissa is a master trained colorist specializing in color corrections as well. Starting January , she will be a student of wig making and custom moldings , hence furthering her skill set and knowledge of anything hair!
Growing up between California and Texas , She has had the pleasure of traveling and meeting wonderful artists and learning from their skill. Learning modern cutting with the prestigious Bumble & Bumble academy in NYC and color with various Redken artists have been a few highlights. A few years ago , Carissa was approached by a film student and friend of hers who needed someone to help his characters take from in his first feature, Young Birds Fly. That was the beginning of the end so to speak and Carissa found her love for being on set. Since then she has gone to work with El Matador films on a feature titled ' In Security ' , due for release in 2011..again sealing her fate for her first love ..BEING ON SET!!
Today , Carissa stays busy in her resident salon , Stag hair parlor , in Los Angeles , when not on set or involved in shoots. Always looking for new projects to work on , she welcomes all inquiries!
